2020 TUOLUMNE SAR
Jake: I’m from the beaches of Santa Monica, CA but have spent the last couple years in the mountains on the eastside of the Sierra. I chose to be on SAR so that I could help those in need all while climbing as much as possible in the most beautiful place on earth! When the season ends I plan on chasing summer to South America.
Anika: I hail from a small mountain town in Colorado where I spend my winters painting, skiing and climbing in the alpine paradise. I'm thrilled to be apart of the YOSAR team this year; to work with an incredible crew and combine my love for climbing and emergency medicine. After this season, I plan to train and continue to chase my big mountain goals abroad.
Alex: I grew up in SoCal and now reside in the Bishop area after spending some years in Tahoe, Yosemite and Montana. This will be my 3rd season with YOSAR after taking a season off to become a paramedic in Sacramento. I am grateful for the opportunity to live in the park and give back by being a part of the search and rescue team. Being a member of SAR in Yosemite has introduced me to some incredible friends and unforgettable days. I am beyond happy to be back. See you out there!
Jack: I wasted my childhood playing video games in the suburbs of Grand Rapids, MI. At 21, I found climbing and life has never been the same. Through climbing, I gained the skills and confidence to take on true adventures. On YOSAR, I hope to develop these skills alongside some extraordinary humans, to help anyone whenever they need it.
Jonah: I'm from Western Massachusetts, where I grew up climbing on impeccable backwoods Gneiss. Like many climbers, I made the pilgrimage to Yosemite when I was younger and immediately fell in love with the area and dreamed of spending a season here. In the following years, I became a Firefighter and EMT and it was only natural to combine my love for the mountains with my dedication to rescue work. I look forward to joining the YOSAR community for my first season.
Alec: It's my first season with YOSAR. I grew up in Tasmania (an island at the bottom of Australia), and have been working summers as a guide there for the last 6 years. My first climbing trip to Yosemite was only 3 years ago and I've been itching to spend more time there since then. I am excited for the opportunity to join the YOSAR team and to help out people in need and to grow as both a rescuer and climber.
